There are no prerequisites for enrolling in our Basic Farrier Course, as it is designed for beginners with no prior experience in horseshoeing.

The Basic Farrier Course depends on you, your available time, your speed at which you learn. I covers essential skills and provides ample hands-on training. I offer day courses up to many months , until you feel comfortable. The farrier skill is alot of reputition. To just trim or shoe one horse , and not come back to the horse's hoof for weeks or months, will more than likley result in failure.

You can learn on the week-ends , and go back to your jobs during the week, Meaning you can start and stop as you see fit. And when you feel comfortable to be on your own. And continue your training until you feel comfortable to be on your own.

Yes, we offer job placement assistance for graduates through our network of industry contacts and partnerships. I will give you lots of options, in which way you as an up-coming farrier can excel to your full potential. Whether it be starting your farrier businees on your own or continuing your training with another seasoned full-time farrier. 

If you are just wanting to work on your own horse's at your own farm/ranch, than , we will work on all that you have available. 

If you come to the location of the Montana Horseshoeing School than I will provide all the horse's that you can physically handle. Keep in mind that QUALITY is WAY more important than QUALITY. 

The most a student has done in one day was put shoes on 2 and 1/2 horses in the very first day and had never touch a horse hoof before. That is impressive for even a sessoned farrier. 

but most get one foot shoed. or maybe 2 horses trimmed in one day.
